Who we are

Our founders and senior management team have successfully developed and implemented Software as a Service solutions since 2001 in the UK and Europe.

TMI Systems was established in July 2008 following the sale by the founders of another business to a FTSE 100 company earlier that year. Our first assignment was to assess a major business transformation programme which had been running for 18 months in a large, £200m organisation.

The whole programme was being managed by spreadsheets, emails and numerous documents, an overrun PMO and poor links between the delivery and stakeholder communities.

It soon became clear they needed to adopt a more open cloud based approach to support collaborative working and improve project control and governance. It worked and the Verto community has grown ever since.

TMI Systems has a proven track record of working successfully with the public sector across the UK. We work with over 60 different organisations and have more than 10 years of experience of providing cloud based services to over 120 public sector clients such as Councils, NHS CCGs, STPs, Local Enterprise Partnerships and the emergency services.

Our products and services have been developed in response to the challenges faced by public sector departments and partner organisations in delivering improved services, whilst achieving more efficient operational practices and cash savings. Setting up and running a Programme Management Office (PMO)

The PMO is crucial to the successful delivery of projects and programmes within an organisation. It provides senior management and stakeholders with real-time information on key areas such as project status, resource management, risk and benefit management.

TMI Systems has supported more than 50 organisations with their PMO operation at varying levels of maturity. Our Verto service is used by more than 60 organisations to manage a wide variety of projects and programmes. Although each client tends to follow a preferred methodology such as Prince2 or MSP, these are generally adapted to suit local requirements or specific department needs, including Agile.

We have many years of experience engaging with clients to help them create the workflow, process steps, management information and governance structure required to achieve their objectives. We are able to advise them on best practice and lessons learnt from a wide cross section of users and pre-configure the Verto solution to meet these needs.

ICT consulting

Our senior management team has extensive ICT experience across the public and private sector. With the growing trend in Local Authorities to outsource their ICT function to third party providers, we have assisted several councils in the management of this process and the subsequent client side engagement to ensure value for money from the new or existing provider. This can involve a short evaluation of current arrangements and benchmarking, through to an interim manager onsite and working directly with the council for a fixed term.
