If there’s one thing that keeps me energised about this role, it’s hearing how you, our clients, turn complex change into meaningful outcomes. Over the past few months our podcasts and webinars have been full of those moments: candid challenges, smart fixes, and the “light-bulb” insights you only get from people doing the work, day in, day out.
I want to celebrate a few of those stories—and invite you to add yours.
What we’ve been hearing lately
- From rollout to real adoption – Implementation is one thing; embedding is another. In our April webinar we unpacked the difference—how internal comms, culture, and practical nudges turn “we’ve launched” into “we live this.” The session covered common barriers, how to remove them, and ways to sustain engagement across teams.
- Early wins from local government reorganisation – With change on the horizon, we explored what it means to get ahead of the curve—how councils can plan, line up the right processes, and engage stakeholders before the pace accelerates. It’s a short, punchy listen with practical recommendations for leaders and PMOs.
- Lessons from the Financial Reporting Council – Miranda Craig shared a frank account of recognising a tipping point for change and why a PPM platform became essential to future-proof programme delivery. It’s a great example of aligning tools to strategy—not the other way round.
- How Liverpool City Council embedded its PPM platform – Vicki Boult and Chris Cotterill talked through their early-stage implementation: what they’d repeat, what they’d tweak, and how they brought people with them. It’s grounded, honest, and exactly the kind of detail other teams ask us for.
- Sector perspectives: Finance, AI and Assurance – Our recent conversation with Emma McMillan, joined by Verto’s Natasha Osborne, explored the evolving PMO in financial services—balancing regulation with transformation, choosing the right methods, and building a culture that supports change.
- PPM fundamentals that still matter – From “When is the right time to bring in a PPM platform?” to “Training that actually sticks,” our PPM Playbook Podcast episodes continue to focus on the basics that create real impact—clarity of purpose, tailored enablement, and consistent follow-through.
Why these stories matter
Every one of these conversations confirms to me that tools are only part of the story. The rest is people: leadership that sets the tone, communities of practice that keep momentum, and teams that iterate their way to better ways of working. When you share what worked (and what didn’t), you shorten the distance for the next organisation tackling a similar challenge.
An open invitation: Please tell us your story!
If you’re a current Verto client and you have a story – a big transformation, a small but mighty improvement, or a lesson learned you wish you’d had sooner – I’d love to help you tell it. There are a few easy ways to get involved:
- Be a guest on the PPM Playbook Podcast. A 30–40 minute conversation recorded remotely. We’ll co-shape the outline and make it easy for you and your comms team.
- Join a webinar panel. Share a case study, demo what you did, or sit on a discussion with peers (public sector and beyond). We handle the logistics and audience Q&A.
- Suggest a topic or challenge. If there’s a thorny issue you want explored, tell us—many of our best sessions start with a single question from a client. (You’ll spot our “What would you like to hear next?” prompt beneath each podcast page.)
What to expect (and what you’ll get back)
- We do the work – We’ll help with prep, structure, and storytelling.
- Peer impact – Your experience will reach programme leaders and practitioners facing the same hurdles you’ve overcome.
- Visibility for your team – We’ll share finished assets you can use internally and on your channels.

Thank you to everyone who’s already shared so openly. Your stories make the whole community better—and I can’t wait to hear the next one.
