Business Continuity
Built for continuity. Designed for resilience.
Verto supports organisations delivering complex programmes, projects and portfolios.
Our approach to business continuity, disaster recovery and service resilience is designed to minimise disruption, protect customer data and support the continued availability of the Verto platform.
Continuity you can rely on
Keeping critical work moving
Public sector organisations depend on consistent access to accurate information, clear reporting and reliable systems.
Our business continuity arrangements are designed to help Verto remain available and recoverable if an unexpected incident occurs, while giving customers confidence that appropriate processes are in place to protect their service and data.
Service Resilience
How we support service continuity
Resilient cloud infrastructure
Verto is hosted within Microsoft Azure using a resilient, load-balanced architecture. Multiple servers support the service so that, if an individual server encounters an issue, traffic can be redirected to available infrastructure.
Backup and recovery
Customer databases are backed up using encrypted Azure recovery services, with redundancy built into the backup approach to support restoration following a significant disruption.
Continuous monitoring
The Verto service is monitored so that disruption can be identified quickly, investigated and responded to as part of our operational processes.
Business continuity planning
Our continuity and disaster recovery arrangements set out how incidents are managed, including communication, containment, investigation and recovery activities.
Incident Response
Prepared for the unexpected
Business continuity isn't just about recovering technology. It is about having clear processes in place before an incident occurs.
Verto's continuity arrangements are designed to provide a structured response to significant disruption. This includes identifying and containing incidents, coordinating recovery activity, communicating with relevant stakeholders and restoring normal service.
Recovery planning includes consideration of different disruption scenarios and the appropriate recovery objectives for each.
Our structured response
- 1 Identify and contain the incident
- 2 Coordinate recovery activity
- 3 Communicate with relevant stakeholders
- 4 Restore normal service
Testing
Tested, reviewed and continuously improved
Continuity arrangements are only useful if they work when they're needed.
Our business continuity processes include regular review and rehearsal, supported by representatives from across the business. Infrastructure failover and recovery processes are also tested as part of our resilience approach.
Business continuity planning is overseen internally, with independent assurance supporting our wider information security management approach.
Regular testing
Continuity and recovery processes are routinely rehearsed.
Resilient architecture
Verto operates on Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
Recovery planning
Defined continuity and disaster recovery procedures.
Security & Governance
Part of our wider approach to security
Business continuity sits alongside Verto's wider information security and risk management practices.
Our continuity and disaster recovery arrangements form part of the controls used to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the Verto service.
Communication
Clear communication when it matters
If a significant incident affects the Verto service, communication forms part of our business continuity response.
Our processes are designed to support coordinated incident management alongside the technical work required to contain issues, investigate their cause and restore service.
